Fastest Man On Earth

Tyson Gay ran the fastest 100-meter race in history the other day when he finished the race in 9.68 seconds but was aided by a wind reading 4.1 meters per second (about 9 miles per hour) which is more than twice the allowable speed of 2.0 mps.

Even though Jamaican runner Usain Bolt's record time of 9.72 will remain the record, Gay's time is a wind-aided world record and will still go down in the record books. The previous fastest time under any conditions came in 1996 when Obadele Thompson of Barbados, who is also the husband of sprinter Marion Jones, clocked 9.69 with a wind reading in excess of 5.0 meters per second.

Sauce,
Needless to say, that's an amazing time!

Although, Tim Montgomery and Justin Gatlin had impressive times too and now we know why. I hate to be pessimistic, but track & field has been plagued with these doping scandals, so I'm just going to reserve judgement and praise right now.

I'll wait and see if everything is legit first.
